Brainspotting: A Liberation
Brainspotting: A Modality of Liberation
There are therapies that help us cope, intellectualize, and analyze.
And then, there are therapies that help us disrupt and upgrade.
If you know me, you know I’m always reaching for the most disruptive upgrade I can get my hands on—and I want you to have it too.
So let me ask you:
Would you rather invest your time and money in 30–40 talk therapy sessions over the course of 18 months… or experience that same level of growth in just 3–4 Brainspotting sessions?
This modality is creating a revolution in rapid trauma resolution. It’s allowing us to walk into wellness instead of suffer long term.
Yes, that’s right—emerging research suggests that Brainspotting can offer the same results as dozens of traditional therapy sessions, in a fraction of the time. Just because healing has historically taken years doesn't mean we have to stay in that paradigm.
For me, Brainspotting isn’t just a healing modality.
It’s a modality of liberation.
How It Found Me
When I first encountered Brainspotting, I wasn’t necessarily seeking a revolution. I was curious. Open. I had done the talk therapy trainings. I’d journaled my insights, mapped the client’s past like a careful archivist.I attended my first Brainspotting training in October 2023. By the summer of 2024, I was selected to join a year-long immersive Brainspotting cohort.
I was all in.
Who I Work With
In my practice, I serve communities cloaked in internalized shame and fear—people who have been in and out of treatment centers 5, 10, even 15 times.
They don’t need more shame. They need freedom.
Brainspotting is my favorite modality because it meets people right where they are—with depth, dignity, and profound effectiveness.
What Happens in a Session
Within a Brainspotting session, what takes place feels more ancient than language, deeper than reason or intellect. There is stillness. A pointer. A spot in the visual field.
That’s where the work begins.
Brainspotting bypasses the thinking mind and speaks directly to the body and brain—down into the subcortical layers where trauma lives, like sediment. Developed by Dr. David Grand, it uses the field of vision to unlock stored memories, beliefs, and protective responses that no longer serve us.
It’s subtle. There’s no need to analyze or explain.
Just presence. Permission. A quiet witnessing of the self.
And in that stillness, something miraculous begins to happen: The body remembers how to release. The mind stops gripping. The nervous system resets.
It feels less like doing therapy and more like allowing healing.
Sometimes the shift is small—like noticing I can take a full breath again.
Other times, it’s seismic.
Patterns collapse.
Grief pours out like rain.
And then: relief. Space. Peace.
Liberation isn’t always loud.
Sometimes, it comes as a sigh. A softening. A few extra blinks.
A sudden clarity that you are no longer who you were twenty minutes ago.
Why I Love Brainspotting
Brainspotting gave me that clairty. Brainspotting gives my clients that clarity.
It gives us access to buried emotions, survival strategies, and old pain that no longer needed to be carried.
And most of all, it gives us the experience—not just the idea—that healing is possible. That we don’t have to “figure it out” in order to be free.
There’s expansion Brainspotting for artists, writers, and creatives. There’s emotional first aid Brainspotting for crisis and regulation. There’s Brainspotting for addiction and cravings.
It honors the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—and trusts the wisdom already within.
It disrupts the idea that healing must take years.
It doesn’t impose. It reveals.
It doesn’t fix. It frees.
It is, for me, a modality of liberation.
